All pets have bahavior. Some are well behaved, others are quite rowdy and misbehaved. So what makes the difference? What causes your pets to act the way they do?

Well there are two main reasons behind behavior patterns. Either the bahavior is hereditary or learned.

There are many cases where some behavior patterns in animals can be genetically passed on from parent to child. This is quite noticeable in the animal kingdom. Ever notice how your pet might circle for a while before laying down,or they instinctively know how to care for their own young. Unfortunately some bad behavioral patterns can also be passed on. For instance, a timid or standofish parent may pass on this behavior to its pups. Dogs that have high aggressive tendencies will likely also have pups that tend to be aggressive.

Learned behavior patterns however will make up a large part of your pets daily behavior. Sure your dog might have some aggressive tendencies, but with proper training, these can be lessened to a great degree. All pets can learn proper bahavior patterns, IF they are taught them properly. Hitting your dog for fun is not a proper way to train your pet, and it would likely train it to become more aggressive.

Either way, you should take into account all factors when getting, training, or even petting some animals. If your getting a new pet, spend time with the breeding dogs if you can to learn what they are like, and do your best to avoid teaching your pet bad behavior patterns by knowing what to look for in your own actions.
